What’s for dinner?

Category: Cooking

Dinner…the focal point of every day (at least for me!).  It’s the time of day we can unwind from work and decompress.  5 days a week, it’s also the same time my husband and I can spend playing with our 10 month old daughter.  We get home around 6pm and she’s in bed around 8-830pm.  Not enough family time during the week for my liking…So I’m always looking for quick and easy dinners, that are (somewhat) healthy but still delicious.  And an easy clean up is always a plus!

Found a salmon dish that fits all these categories!  Oven Baked Salmon was definitely a winner!  I love buying a huge salmon filet from Costco.  We usually get 3 meals for my husband and myself (plus leftovers)…now now my baby likes salmon, too!

So I started with defrosting one of our salmon pieces...

Time….

I’ve horribly neglected my site…so much more time has passed than I had originally thought…A year and a half??!! I need to get it together!

Lots of things have happened in that year and a half, and I have used Pinterest along the way.  Some bullet points

Hot Body in my 30’s

Weight Loss

Like most women, I’d like to lose weight.  In my teens and early 20’s I was thin…but stupid enough to think otherwise.  At 18 I weight around 130 pounds…at 5’8″ that’s pretty tiny, between a size 6-8.  I had no idea the hot body I had at that age…wish I could talk to that girl and let her know how lucky she was.  Senior year of high school I stopped dancing because my studio had closed.  I also broke my foot that year….so HELLO 20 pounds!  I was lucky in college, no Freshman 15 for me….But that Senior 20 never went away.

Fast forward 6 years...

Some Simple DIY Projects…(HOPEFULLY!)

Spoiled Cat

Planning some projects for tomorrow.  Should be simple enough.  I have a few pins that are very different in use, but the supplies are fairly easy enough to come by.  They are all on my DIY Cheap board.  The thought behind this board is things that I use (or intend to use) in everyday life that I pay some decent money for.

Now I have a cat.  Lacy Cat.  She’s so much fun, but like all cats, the litter box isn’t my favorite part.  And we rent a 1 floor apartment, so its not like we can put the litter in the basement.  So I love air fresheners, candle, oil burners, any that keeps the shitty kitty smell away.  So a DIY Room Air Freshener seemed right up my alley!

Roasted Chick Peas

I love to eat…I’ll try anything once!  And I do enjoy to cook.  Sometimes I can be an amazing cook!  Sometimes not so much…

So for my first recipe to tackle, I figured I’d try something quick and easy.  So I tried this post for Roasted Chick Peas.

I should have read the directions first…all of them.  I only looked for ingredients, and cooking time.  That’s it.  I didn’t look at measurements of the ingredients…which can be kind of extremely important!

Welcome To Living By pinning

I’m a Pinterest addict.  I love looking around, seeing what others are pinning and, like most people, have intentions of trying everything I pin.  Well almost 1,800 pins later, I have barley scratched the surface.  So I thought to myself, “get adventurous and start doing these things you have such great intentions of completing…all of them…the good, the bad, and the ugly!”

I don’t mean for this to be one of those “Pinterest Failure” sites. I want to succeed on everything I try!  So here is my challenge to myself.  I want to try at least 3 of my pins per week.  New or old, doesn’t matter.  So here goes…Wish me LUCK!
